Ingredients

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 0.125 tsp black pepper
  • 2 can (14.5 oz) cut green beans drained
  • 1.33 cup French fried onions divided

Equipment

  • 1 2-quart baking dish

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Fold in the green beans and 2/3 cup of the French fried onions.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 2-quart baking dish.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes, until hot and bubbling around the edges.
  6. Stir the casserole.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 2/3 cup French fried onions over the top.
  8. Bake for 5 minutes, until the onions are golden.

Notes

For the best texture, add the remaining French fried onions only for the final bake. Refrigerate leftovers for 3–4 days; freezing is not recommended because it can affect the creamy texture. For a dairy-free swap, use dairy-free condensed mushroom soup and unsweetened plant milk.
